Dragon Wheels Restorations 1971 Mach 1 Mustang

Originally purchased new by a US. Navy fighter pilot who served in the Korean War. He owned a 66 Shelby GT350H but kept getting speeding tickets whilst driving the Shelby, so saw the Mach 1 in Uhlmann Motors, Chehalis, WA and traded the Shelby against it. He thought the Mach 1 name sounded good especially as he was a pilot. The car was ordered with an excellent original specification, which includes 351ci 4V, C6 auto trans, with performance rear axle ratio. Mach 1 exterior spec including colour keyed front bumper and door mirrors. He also spec'd the Dark Green/Silver exterior paint with the Dark Green interior trim.
He kept the car all his life, but unfortunately in later years, illness stopped him driving the car, so it sat in a garage. Discovered by a Mustang Club of America senior member and very well restored by him, over a long period. Purchased for one of my clients and now under going extensive re-detailing work, to all areas of the car.
One special area of attention is the seat trim. The originals are in fantastic condition for a 42 year old car, but not perfect. As reproduction seat covers are not available, i have purchased a quantity of N.O.S. material of the three type used in the original seat covers and are having new exact copies made.
